Mindfulness and journaling are lifetime companions.

They’re both about developing more self-awareness and coming home to the body, the mind and the heart in the present time. 

When we meditate and journal together, it’s not about achieving a goal or a PB, there’s no winner or loser here. You can’t be bad at meditating or journaling and you can’t do them in the wrong way. Because these practices aren’t about perfection at all.

Mindfulness teaches you to see things with curiosity and non-judgment, to slow down, to be gentle with your body, your mind and your heart. Mindfulness is a way of being and living.

Journaling allows you to express what’s under the surface and by writing things down, you immediately create a barrier between you and your thoughts. This can give you a different perspective on things, uncover patterns you weren’t aware of and offer you insights on how you’d like to move forward.

Mindfulness and journaling are powerful practices that create space for you to explore and understand your thoughts, emotions and experiences without filters. All the things you notice (good, bad and in-between) can help you gain a deeper understanding of who you are as a person, your needs, values and boundaries.

Both tools will bring you back to the here and now and remind you to be less of a human doing and more of human being. Because you are allowed to slow down and take some time just for you. Despite what society makes it look like, rest isn’t selfish. It’s an act of self-love.
